Lobby Intervention 1:
Train Your Brain

2019
Spatial Graphics Proposal

Inspired by a problem of frustratingly long elevator lines and rush-hour traffic in the lobby of my design school, this spatial graphics intervention was designed to reduce anxiety. A variety of hours-long, high definition train videos are played on a floor to ceiling low-lit screen. Soft audio is heard from ceiling speakers throughout the lobby.

Projector will display poems (sourced from “poem a day” section of poets.org), line by line. Each line will zoom across the wall bottom left to top right - accelerating faster at the top right, based on the visual experience of passing a sign on the road. Motion is triggered by motion sensor in front of the wall - when this is tripped animation will start. Before animation screen is frozen on the first line - in lower left spot.
